The Royal Horseguards hotel at 2 Whitehall Court, Whitehall, SW1A 2EJ, is to have its 280 bedrooms refurbished by next year as part of a £16.3m facelift.
The listed building was built in 1884 and used by the secret service and was also partly occupied by government departments during World War I.
This elegant Grade One listed building has 280 bedrooms with deluxe suites and apartments. The Royal Horseguards has a restaurant which has recently been awarded an AA Rosette award which recognises the high quality of food offered and superior service skills. The hotel also has a lounge and bar which serve a variety of drinks, light refreshments and meals. Car parking is available at an additional charge. The hotel also has Just Gym workout facilities, and 6 meeting rooms, the largest meeting room seats 35 theatre style.
Famous ex-residents include playwright George Bernard Shaw and 19th Century prime minister William Gladstone.
