Buffalo Bar
Category: Live music venues
An independently run bar and venue with full entertainment licence. In the heart of Islington, right outside Highbury & Islington tube underneath the Famous Cock Tavern.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, superb PA system and a great place to spend the evening.

View London - "Venues like the Buffalo bar are vital to a city's energy. London has a fine tradition of providing venues where a whole spectrum of possibility unfolds, night after night, from motley crowds of punters indulging their mates while they have a strum, to the birth of brave new electric worlds inhabited by sweet and strange music..."

Careless Talk Costs Lives - "My Favourite night was probably the Oneida show, where the Brooklyn trio plugged in, opened with a twenty minute 'Sheets of Easter' and closed with a twenty minute cover of Husker Du's 'New Day Rising..."

Hedonists Guide to London - "...Desperately lo-fi and unstuffy, the draw of this baked earth-hued cellar is its ear-to-the-ground music programming..."

Gigwise - "In Islington, the ONLY place to go for live music is the fantabulous Buffalo Bar , next to Highbury and Islington tube station – a tiny, sweaty basement bar that plays host top Artrocker's weekly live nights, and up and coming punk/ rock acts"

London Evening Standard - "Desperately lo-fi and unstuffy cellar. Ear-to-the-ground music." June 2, 2006

TNT - "Who'd have guessed that nestled underneath the Arsenal-supporting locals watching the match in the Famous Cock Tavern is one of the capital's favourite alt-rock havens?..."

Just recently Babyshambles reportedly performed at the Bar.
