Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is a long-established and charitable home for cats and dogs in the Battersea area of London.

Formerly the Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs, it was established in Holloway in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871 and is located under or beside the main railway line into London's Victoria railway station.
In 2005 the well-known name of Battersea Dogs Home was changed to the current name in order to make clear that both dogs and cats are cared for. It is referred to in a number of Goon Show episodes.
