The Foundling Museum tells the story of London’s first home for abandoned children, the Foundling Hospital, and chronicles the lives of the children through a fascinating social history exhibition. The museum also contains the hospital’s collection of eighteenth-century art and fine memorabilia, in addition to the Gerald Coke Handel collection, the largest collection of Handel material in private hands. The museum is a unique and critically-acclaimed, destination, with an interesting mix of social history, personal stories of the foundlings, unique art pieces, and the Handel collection.
